Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Nova Bot ("we", "us", "the Service") collects, how we use it, and your choices. By adding Nova Bot to a Discord server or using our website and dashboard at novadiscordbot.com, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

  • Discord account data — when you log into the dashboard we use Discord OAuth to receive your user ID, username, avatar, and the list of servers you belong to (the identify and guilds scopes). We do not receive your email or password.
  • Server (guild) data — server IDs, channel/role IDs, and the configuration settings you choose (e.g. log channels, welcome messages, auto-mod rules, leveling settings).
  • Feature data — data generated by the features you enable, such as XP/level progress, moderation case records (warnings and their reasons), reaction-role and role-menu mappings, giveaway entries, suggestions, birthdays you set, and daily message/member counts used for analytics.
  • Subscription data — if you purchase Premium, we store your PayPal subscription ID and status, the server it applies to, and the purchasing user's Discord ID. We never receive or store your card or bank details — all payment information is handled by PayPal.

Message content

Some features (auto-mod, leveling, custom commands, auto-responders) read message content in real time to function. Message text is processed transiently and is not stored in our database. The only text we retain is content you or your moderators explicitly create (e.g. custom-command responses, welcome messages, moderation reasons).

How we use information

  • To provide and operate the bot's features and the dashboard.
  • To process Premium subscriptions and apply entitlements.
  • To send operational notifications (e.g. a getting-started DM, renewal/expiry notices).
  • To understand website traffic and improve the Service (see "Third-party services").

Third-party services

We rely on the following processors: Discord (bot platform and login), PayPal (payments), Microsoft Azure (hosting and database), and Google and Ahrefs (website analytics). Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies.

Data retention & deletion

We keep server and feature data while the bot is in your server. If you remove the bot, associated configuration and feature data may be retained for a limited period and then deleted. You can request deletion of your server's data at any time by contacting us (see below).

Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under the minimum age required to use Discord in their country (at least 13). We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
